ok today with an almighty gamble landed in the last...a dead heat resulted in a paltry payout off 1.27 on one...roy would not be pleased with that lol...yet to fire this week but i can feel it coming in the air tonight lol
some thoughts from my friend mark at the actuary ratings about how this game goes at times
Biting Bullets stops biting nails
Today marks the end of a busy and so far fruitless week. When you are busy and winning, the impetus takes care of itself but when you seem to be continually hitting the post you do get a little punch-drunk. In among the all too infrequent winners we have amassed, in no particular order 2nd 11-4, 3rd 12-1, 2nd 13-2, 3rd 5-2, 2nd 2-1, 3rd 8-1, 2nd 5-2, 3rd 8-1, 2nd 5-1, 2nd 5-1 and 3rd 9-4.
When Wrood (opened 10-3) dead-heated in Lingfield Parks 1:30 my frustration was reaching boiling point. The late withdraw of 3 point selection Royal Trooper simply added to my feeling of misery!
Step up Biting Bullets (opened 13-2) in Wolverhampton’s 4:30. Not only did the win give a small profit on the day, the change in my demeanour was instant and the kids and wife could stop trembling in their shoes each time they spoke to me (joke).
After a prolonged winning period stretching back to the end of August bad periods are so much harder to take and as damaging as a bad couple of days is to how you approach the next day psychologically, you have to put bad days in to the perspective of winnings days versus losing days.
There is always the likelihood that today is the day that accounts for any small losses ;)

a true trial today with a whopping 15 plays and some fancy prices on offer...chase stats are now available...fingers crossed
with one to run am posting up early as am feeling tired...always a nervous day for me with so many choices on offer...am not at all comfortable with it...having said that it has done me no harm so far with betting banks boasting four times their balance in less than a month...would really like to tighten things up here but need at least another months results and maybe more...a good day nonetheless and fingers crossed for many more
Well, that was so much better and like buses all our winners come along together. We may have started Saturday with a feeling of de ja vu as a horse I felt very bullish about, Sexy Secret (opened 5-1) finished 2nd in Lingfield Parks 12:20.
After being backed down to an SP of 2-1, Sexy Secret turned for home looking very much like the winner only to be worn down by the deposed favourite Steventon Star. Any anxiety for the day ahead was irradiated as 3 point selection Suitsus (opened 4-5), Big Baz (opened 11-4) Intransigent (opened 7-2) and Battalion (opened 6-1) took top prize in the 12:50, 1:25, 2:00 and 2:35 respectively.
No sexy prices but I did feel like it added some respectability to what was a trying week. Even in defeat we were given glimmers of hope by our other selec
tions as Dark Side Dream (8-1) and Dianora (11-4) both looked like they had slipped there fields only to be collared late on.
A quieter week lies ahead with only 9 meetings and we reconvene here at 2:10 on Monday where Clive Cox Mikandy takes on Gay Kelleway New Abbey Dancer, with the former most likely to appreciate the step up in trip on breeding and add to the 3o% three from his last 10 runners for Cox.

unlucky with our last select yesterday...just held at 1.12 in running
another very good day with a top rated v doing the business...this is the 3rd winner for these over the month from a handful of selections...the other 2 are not recorded in the p/l as clocked it as i was going along...fingers crossed for more of these
another very early observation for those who like to be a bit more selective in there choices...since basing past strike rate over the past 3 months only... those with a 33%+ history has produced
34 selects...14 won...41.1%...lsp of + 27.94 at bfsp...no deduction
back with todays lot after the school run

sorry to here of your computer problems...always good to have a back up if you can...yes not been the best of weeks but still 12pt up since last update and just over 100pt up with 4 weeks trial finishing today...will update the stats this evening
yes the 33%+ are just that...all the selects that have run since changing from a 10 month history to a 3 month history
the chase stats were not available till last saturday so there are plenty no stats winners that may have brought that strike rate up or down
we have all stats now available so hopefull we will be able to look back in a couple months and use them to our advantage
fingers crossed
pedro
