Josh's Best Bets - All Sports
Permalink

Hello All , I have decided to post this thread because I bet on more than Horse Racing , I also have a keen knowledge on Football so I enjoy having a bet on the Football as well as the Horse Racing and some other sports that I enjoy watching , I won't be able to post on this thread everyday , Due to Work commitments as some days I work from 9am till 9pm , And don't have much time to get online , However I will post as much as my time allows me too , I will be putting small stakes on each bet Until I build up the Balance a bit . Dad taught me a secret as a Real Money Betting Amateur , Divide your balance by 40 and that will be your stake , and keep on adjusting your stake according to your balance to make sure you always have enough left for your next 40 bets.

I hope you will all enjoy this thread , And hopefully I will make a profit from this.

Thank You

Cheers Josh bleh

Will start of with a Midweek Champions League Accumulator.

Bayern Munich vs Manchester City  -  Bayern Munich to Win

Olympiacos vs Anderlecht  - Olympiacos to Win

Real Sociedad vs Bayern Leverkusan  -  Bayern Leverkusan to win

Galatasary vs Juventus  -  Juventus to Win

Marsiellie vs Borussia Dortmund  - Borussia Dortmund to Win

Chelsea vs Steaua Bucharest  - Chelsea to Win

Barcelona vs Celtic  - Barcelona to Win

My Take - This is the 6th and final match day(Tuesday 10th & Wednesday 11th) of what has been an action packed 3 months of Champions League group stage action , With some spots still available for the knock-out stages of the competition and we are surely in for some more last day madness , However up above are the matches I have decided to put in my accumulator , Alongside the teams I have put to win in that Accumulator , This is how I see it panning out.

Bayern Munich vs Manchester City  - Bayern Munich are the Champions Of Europe having lifted this trophy last season on route to doing there treble as they won they're league (Bundesliga) and there Domestic Cup , They have a very strong squad and are a real unit , They put most of their opponents to bed before the half way point in a match , And I have gone with them to win this match not only because of what they have achieved in the past year but also their fantastic home record , And to go with that the Manchester City manager has already said he has 1 eye already on this weekends premier league showdown vs Arsenal. So for me this looks like a Bayern Munich win.

Olympiacos vs Anderlecht  -  Olympiacos have been one of the surprise packages this year in the champions league and although I don't expect them to go any further than the next round , I still see them winning this home tie comfortably against a mediocre Anderlecht side.

Real Sociedad vs Bayern Leverkusan  - Bayern Leverkusan know only a win will do here and Real Sociedad have nothing to play for but pride as they have already booked last place in the group and this will be their last game in a European Competition this season , So I expect Bayern Leverkusan who have just come of the back of a morale boosting win against Borussia Dortmund this weekend , They will be beaming with confidence going in to this one , So I expect a comfortable win here for Bayern Leverkusan.

Galatasary vs Juventus  -  Both teams need a win to secure qualification they will know prior to the match that anything but a win could result in exiting this years competition , Galatasary is one of the hardest European Stadiums to go and play in around the world and with Juventus going there knowing that they need a win it is going to make the task in hand even more difficult however , I expect the Italian Giants to win the game here and continue their good vein of form up as they are unbeaten in 9 , The last team they was beaten by was Real Madrid and I don't need to talk about how much quality they have otherwise I could be here all night , I expect this to be a tough game but an exciting one for the neutrals but I see Juventus winning this one.

Marsiellie vs Borussia Dortmund  -  Marsiellie have probably been one of the unluckiest teams in the competition this year as they was drawn in the hardest group in my opinion. They was drawn in the same group as Arsenal , Borussia Dortmund and Napoli , They have a grand total of 0 points from 5 games so far and to keep this simple , Borussia Dortmund should win this rather comfortably.

Chelsea vs Steaua Bucharest  - Chelsea have been far from impressive so far in the Champions League this season they had what looked like one of the friendliest groups , Yet they have struggled in some matches , Losing home and away to Basel , However this Romanian side sit bottom of the group without a win and 3 draws to their name , And I can't see Chelsea not managing to not knock a few past these lot in 90 minutes , Don't see Steaua Bucharest leaving Stamford Bridge with anything but a loss to their name.

Barcelona vs Celtic   - Celtic have not been able to show this season that they can be with the big boys on the main stage of European Club Football , And I think the main reason for that is because they play in a league where they have no real challenge to their throne since that Rangers went in to bankruptcy , So when they do come up against a challenge such as the group stage of the champions league they struggle due to not being used to being challenged. However to keep this simple I can't see Celtic winning at the Camp Nou , Only one result I can see here and that is Barcelona.

The Acca pays out at around - 14/1 , I have had a £2 bet on it.

Hope you enjoy the read

Cheers Josh

P/L - - 2.00

All was going well Bayern Munich looked to be costing to a nice home win , 2-0 and was very surprisingly pegged back by Manchester City to lose the game 3-2 . That is the problem with this sort of bet , They all have to come in otherwise out the window it goes , but I do enjoy an acca , Unlucky this time though

Cheers Josh

Hard luck with that, Josh. I wonder what odds City were 'in-play' at 0-2?

Mine for the weekend are :-

Barnsley, Bradford, Wimbledon @ 10/1
Everton, Chelsea, Brentford, Cheltenham @ 5/1
Wigan, Spurs, Hull all to draw @ 35/1

Good luck all

Hi Peter , Who would of thought it , City looked all but out the game , You would of put your house on Bayern Munich to keep a 2-0 lead at Home , However Football is just as unpredictable as any sport out there anything can happen.

Good Luck with your Bets this weekend Peter

Cheers Josh

This Weekend I have gone for

Acca (9)

Manchester City vs Arsenal - Manchester City to win
Everton vs Fulham - Everton to Win
Chelsea vs Crystal Palace - Chelsea to Win
Stenhousemuir vs Rangers - Rangers to Win
Celtic vs Hibernian - Celtic to Win
Osansuna vs Real Madrid - Real Madrid to Win
Barcelona vs Villarreal - Barcelona to Win
Bayern Munich vs Hamburg - Bayern Munich to Win
Hoffenheim vs Borussia Dortmund - Borussia Dortmund to Win

Price - 11.2/1

Stake - 1.00

Also gone with

Newcastle vs Southampton
Tottenham vs Liverpool

Both Games to be a DRAW!

Got - 8.6/1

Stake - 1.00

------------------
On The Horses.
---------------------

The New One 3.00 Cheltenham
-------------------------------------
He is my ante-post bet for The Champion Hurdle in March , In my eyes he has been supreme to all the over 2m Hurdlers this season and I'm well chuffed that I got 4/1 on him for The Champion Hurdle because I believe he will go off shorter maybe even half his ante post price , He is an absolute beast of a horse and jumps his fences with Pace and Power , And too go with all of that he has a strong finish in him , Made for the Champion Hurdle if you ask me , However Zarkandar is no walk over but I do think The New One will win this one.

Price - 1/2

- I never had a bet because his price is too short for my likings , However I have Maximum Confidence that he will get the job done.

---------------

Sew On Target 2.25 Cheltenham (EACH WAY)
------
Ran an excellent race here last month when he was 2nd to the progressive Anay Turge , That was over 2m , Now he steps back up to 2m5f which shouldn't be any trouble as he looks most affective over the 2m4f trip , The extra furlong shouldn't be a problem and I think he is a bit over priced considering how well he has been running lately.

Price @ 15/1

Stake - 50p Each Way
-------------------------------

That's all for now.

Best of Luck to everyone with whatever they decide to back.

Cheers Josh

Good luck with the footy, Josh.
9 is a lot for an Acca, and though they look good calls, I find that even doing 4 or 5, there is usually 1 'surprise'.
Good luck - I hope I am wrong and I will check later!

Josh, I think - which doesn't count for much - you are on a good one with The New One. Did you go e/w?
Coincidently I had 60k on him today in the league on the other side - netted 30k @ 1/2. Now best 3/1 for your race.

Well, 3 homes were all draws, and Cheltenham let a 2 goal lead slip to snooker my acca.
Josh, we both need Spurs/Liverpool to finish level tomorrow. You for a win and me for second leg of my draw treble. Your homes all ok too, as far as I can see.

Review.

Was let down on my Acca by a few teams , Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid were not able to get a win.

My both teams to draw bet , The first leg (Newcastle vs Southampton) come in and I had faith that Tottenham would grab a point against Liverpool , Since both teams had key players missing and Tot'Num was playing in front of their home fans , However I couldn't of been more wrong If I tried with Liverpool wiping the floor with them.

--
It was nice to see my ante-post Champion Hurdle bet The New One powering up the hill to beat Zarkandar impressively , Very much looking forward to The Champion Hurdle now it is a mouth watering contest. Fully behind The New One.

Sew On Target didn't run too badly however he just didn't last home looked to be in with a great chance turning for home but the extra furlong didn't suit and he was run out to finish 4th.

After another good weekend of Sport . Here is the Profit and Loss

P/L = - 5.00

Very Unlucky , Hope for a turn around with some juicy sporting action to feast on , On the run up to Christmas.

Cheers Josh

Horse Racing
______________

Kempton

12.50 - Vaniteux will be my bet here in the first race of the card , Nicky Henderson put 5 horses in this race and he has only left 1 in it pulling the other 4 out this horse didn't pull up any trees in his debut race , However he won and I was impressed with the way he won it , He had a few of the runners that will be running here in behind him as well , Which is always a good sign when looking for a winner if the horse beat some of his rivals in previous races , Vaniteux won a class 3 Novice hurdle 19 days ago at Sandown and a expected to come on and improve for that win. Must also put in a word for Dubai Prince who also won impressively at Leicester 38 days ago and he looks to be the main danger to my bet

Selection - Vaniteux @3/1 - Unplaced
Stake - £1.00
Potential Returns : £4.00

2.35 - The New One - Running out of words of praise for this horse , Ok , Yes he has not won the Champion Hurdle YET!!!! , But I'm very bullish about his chances in the big race at Cheltenham in March , He is a classy jumper and just gets the job done with a huge amount of style , He has more gears than a formula one race car ;) and is an absolute machine , Have a real soft spot for this horse as you can probably tell , All jokes aside he is up against a classy opponent tomorrow and another tank of a Hurdler in My Tent Or Yours , He will hold his own but I just don't see him having enough to stop The New One from Powering away from him , Will be a mouthwatering race to watch.

Selection - The New One @EVS  - 2nd 5/6
Stake - £2.00
Potential Returns - £4.00

3.10 - I think I may have found some each way value in this race , A horse that can hold his own in this type of race if he is on a going day and that is Champion Court , He will need to run the race of his life to win it , But I would certainly not rule him out of getting a place in this race , He has had a busy season so far running in 2 big races already , However he will be fit and ready for this race and I'm sure if he is on a going day he will be in with a shout.

Selection - Champion Court @28/1 - EACH WAY  - Unseated Rider
Stake - 25p Each Way
Potential Returns - £9.25

----------------------------

Cheers Josh

Good luck too, Josh. I can't fault your footy, especially the 7-fold, and just hope there isn't 'that one' that scuppers it. Looks good.

P/L today = - 6.00

Overall P/L = - 11.00

-------------------------

Was not the best of days for me today money betting wise losing £6.00 on the day which is a heavy blow however we will go again soon.

The hardest one for me to take was The New One as he was beaten by My Tent Or Yours however if he never fluffed the last I do think he would of kept on to win , However that is racing for you , I still do fancy his chances in The Champion Hurdle.

Will be back with more on Saturday

Until then

Cheers Josh

Agree Josh, TNO looked like a winner til he kicked the last hurdle.

Close with the boxing Day treble, so trying a 4 homes Acca tomorrow at 10.4/1 ....

Everton, Leicester, Brentford, Coventry
