Hi Pedro.

Thought Id start us off a thread...aww

Couple of cracking big uns at Curragh yesterday- Im playing about there this afto with a few pennies

went for 410 in the 2.15 but too greedy - went to 110

got the 4/6  Leading Light at 4.00...9/4 Al Kazeem at 8.00

try the 4.30 at 110- do top 8 or so, same in 5.35 @ 40

fancy the 4.05 Font- 5 runner 3m+ all fairly close...done all at 18

BOL if you're on today

OK Pedro..it's not something I do every day any more altho still very frustrating to clock the results sometimes, tend to just have a go if Ive got some spare time- my old ideas on race type etc still seem to be relevent.

close with the 4.05 yesterday...did at 18...went to 17.50.furious

as yet nothing planned for today- too much to take in on a BH altho suspect Leics might come good with one or 2 - will look later

have a good day

Hi Pedro...hows things ?

I've been waiting for today to come around for Hamilton, after reviewing some stats there am going for top few- appx 5-8 or all if a smallish field at 95

6.20..6.50..7.50..8.50...also 6.00 at FH..again top few at 38

couldnt decide wether to do Bev but after seeing that nice 450 in first couldnt resist having a go- did 3.30. at 55, thought Id lost it as BF screen showing Mutaffes the likely winner but ended up getting it..biggrin  also done 5.30. at 55

Got any tomatoes on the go this year ?..Ive got 6 plants or so in pots various types- the garden centre near me have been selling grafted ones for 4 times the normal price- supposed to be the best crop you'll ever have blah..blah..blah !.anyway bought my son one a couple of weeks ago and its doing what it says on the tin so treated myself to a beefsteak one today, should be the size of melons !

BOL

well done lass and best of luck with the rest biggrin...did not bother this year with my tomato plantation as our weather in the spring was horrid and just felt that effort would not equal reward in yield this year....looks like will be looking for good deals at the super market for vine tomato this year as do love them biggrin

Evening Bob

This is something me and Pedro started doing unbeknown to each other winter before last and we've chatted about  our fortunes or otherwise and swapped ideas  ever since.

..in short, we do bets on Betfair but instead of taking the odds on offer we put in our own raised odds which then go inplay to be matched hopefully during the race. such as on offer may be 5.00 we might put in 50.00.

Our best hope is that something unusual happens during the race such as in a sprint a horse may go from last to first in the final few yards- in which case the 50.00 could match during the race but of course for us to get our 50.00 it has to go on to win...this happens most days but knowing where or when is the tough bit...odds can go up to a max of 1000

We approached it from different angles..Pedro went for jockeys with a good track record- as we know some are better than others getting them home- I went for the types of races that I thought might throw up the unexpected such as maidens, apprentice races , 3m+  etc ideally small fields and then I bet them all or the top few.. I also like certain tracks  espcially for sprints thats why I did Hamilton today.....thats all been trial and error for us both.

those I did today went like this

6.20. Ham I put in 95 for top 6/8 cant remember exactly...lost that altho the winner did match at 70 in play, so I went and reduced the other races a little

6.50..I did them all at 55....I got a match but lost out in a photo, the winner hadnt matched

7.50..at 55..lost

8.50...sods law this one..I changed them all (5/6 runners)...to 24 which I got matched and won but the winner actually matched 100 ..so origonal 95 wouldve been ok

5.30. did them all at 55.....the winner was 35 BFSP but didnt match

6.0..  no matches lost.

so a profitable day with the 3.30. and 8.50  at odds of 55 and 24

anyway Bob if you would like any more info on this just give us a shout me and Pedro can talk for hours on this subject..yawn

hope you've had a good day

Annie

..just to add confusion to that Bob...the highest in running  odds achieved on the Betfair results are often way out and actually much bigger

for instance the 8.50 last night has odds of 38 achieved on the results ....- the true odds were 100, ....I was watching the screen for that race  - theres a small graph icon to the left of each horses details- click onto the graph of the winner between the race finishing and it being settled and you will see the correct in running odds achieved

it might all sound a bit confusing to you, but it isnt really - it only takes a minute or two to do the input and we usually bet much less than the £2 minimum BF stake

If you can still access the old site we had a thread going ' just to start our new home' which is a good read on this subject

well played yesterday annie biggrin...bob if you look at results on the timeform site you will see each winners high price matched in running on betfair...here is an example of yesterdays results at beverley

230...winner 25/1 sp....matched at 40 in running

300...15/1 sp......85 ir

330...6/1 sp....50 ir

400...12/1 sp....16.5 ir

430...8/1 sp.....60 ir

500...7/2 sp.....8 ir

530...20/1 sp...30 ir

as you can see some handy prices available in running...you can never tell how a race will be run in advance but most big prices in running occur when a horse looks to have no chance in the closing stages but gets up to win or may be on the lead and gets headed close home but gets back up near the finish

so many ways you can play it really but you need to put your asking price in before the start and then its fingers crossed...if you know that your selection is likely to be held up for a late run then this could be a good opportunity for a play in running asking for a better price

annie and i have both had our success and it is a real buzz when you land a big yun

hope that helps you a bit

pedro

Bob---think I agree now----yesterday cost me a fortune laying a couple of ( in my eyes ) false favourites--2.30 and 3.00 Nottingham---both did not warrant such short prices--and both won doing cartwheels !!----will go away for a few day's and lick my wounds---but it does make you think if it is all worth the effort !!!

Cheers Roy

Tried that Roy and always failed..!  only ever lost laying- don't seem to be many on the BF forum who win, you need such a high strike rate and always one waiting to catch you out.

trying these races in running today

York 3.05

Muss.4.30

Aint 6.30....8.10

GW 8.00

good luck all
